Vladimir Kozhukh

Biography

Vladimir Kozhukh was born in 1953 in Dragitchin, in the Brest region of Belarus. He initiated his studies at the Minsk Art School and completed them in 1978 at the Belarus Art Institute, now the Academy of Fine Arts.

In 1983 he participated with other artists in his city in the Academy's creative studies. In 1985 he became a member of the Painter's Union of the former USSR.

In 1992 he was awarded the Belorussian Union's prize for a series of works on Chernobyl and in 1994 he participated in the international outdoor exhibition "Chagall at Vitebsk".

Since 1980, he has taken part in numerous exhibitions both at home and abroad. His work can be found at the National Museum in Belarus, the Zemmerli Art Museum in the United States and in private collections around the world.

Vladimir Kozhukh's work lends a deep spirituality to reality and combines philosophical research with a marked lyricism.
